About Luminum

Luminum is a membership community built for helping us all live better lives, to thrive by listening and offering each other our wisdom. Members post the questions they're wrestling with, and other members share their advice, drawn from lived experience and objectivity. In a world rushing us towards social isolation caused by technology, Luminum aims to be the antidote: people helping people, with kindness.

Why we built it

We wanted a place where asking for advice felt safe and where giving advice was a way to help and to be recognized for our wisdom and knowledge. Other social media platforms reward attention hijacking, dopamine hits, and outrage. Luminum rewards depth and kindness.

How it works

Members ask questions anonymously with a username, seeking helpful advice from the community. The community gives and rates the advice it finds most useful, so the best guidance rises to the top for the asker. Contributors who consistently post helpful advice earn Mentor status, recognition, and credits.

Who it's for

People navigating a decision — a career move, a relationship question, a parenting crossroads, a financial choice, a health concern — who want to hear from other humans who've been there. Luminum is not a substitute for professional therapy, legal, or medical advice, but it's a place to be heard, to be listened to, and to find guidance that doesn't cost a lot.
